Decatur kitchen project

This project has been one of the most challenging in my career. The kitchen had eight angled walls, and the client wanted an island. I came up with the idea of slightly widening the pantry opening and connecting the cabinetry from the kitchen all the way to the breakfast area, creating a continuous line from the sink wall that made the angled walls far less noticeable. I recessed the fridge into the opening and added two pantry cabinets—one in the opening and another on the opposite side. This transformation made the kitchen appear three times larger, and the clients are still in shock.
